Educational training programmes and activities on responsible consumption in the Republic of Moldova The goal of this project is to facilitate responsible consumption practices in the Republic of Moldova through educational training programmes and thus contribute to the improvement of the state of the environment. The project started with the preparing of the situation analysis on the actual state of consumption in the development regions of Moldova (North, Centre and South) with the collection of data on the main consumption patterns of the population. The team of HOPE’87 visited these regions, met with local communities and held consultation meetings with local public and sectoral authorities and other stakeholders in order to identify the main expectations from the educational and training activities and subsequently develop proposals and recommendations on social and economic development, health issues as well as the recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. Furthermore, lectures, presentations and trainings on responsible consumption were organised in all administrative units of the Republic of Moldova, reaching around 1,000 people. These activities included the discussion of the current situation in regard to the use and consumption of different products, goods and technologies, an estimation of the use of natural and cultural heritage to combat the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic, the development of nutrient reduction measures aimed at social and economic development as well as proposals for planning of local agendas.
