Humanitarian Quickie (EN)
14.05.2024 | 09:30 – 10:30 UTC+2 (= Austrian time) | online
How do social norms deeply embedded in the aid system affect people with diverse Sexual Orientations, Gender Identities, Expressions and Sex Characteristics (SOGIESC) specifically in humanitarian contexts? What can norm-shifting interventions look like in the different thematic areas, e.g. food distribution, shelter? What can we learn of ’stories from past disasters‘?
Lana Woolf has worked for more than 25 years on women’s rights, disability, Indigenous and LGBTIQ+ inclusion. She has co-founded edge effect | more than inclusion, an organisation focused on the inclusion of people with diverse SOGIESC in humanitarian and development contexts and runs Community Powered Responses.
A „Humanitarian Quickie“ is a basic 60 minutes online session comprising an experts input, Questions and Answers, peer-exchange and debate. The individual sessions are intended to give interested staff in the member organisations of GLOBAL RESPONSIBILITY – Austrian Platform for development and humanitarian aid and their partner organisations a rough overview of the respective topic. They can be attended independently of each other.
