Event Report
(13.03.2019 – Nachlese) After 2 one-week-trainings on the „market systems approach – MSD“ in October and November 2018, a group of 9 Austrian NGOs interested to further learn and apply this approach in their organisations met last week on March 13th to plan their consortia project „capacity development on inclusive systems development“.
The workshop was facilitated by Maja Rüegg from Helvetas Swiss Intercooperation guiding 16 participants of 9 member organisations of AG Globale Verantwortung and the Austrian Development Agency who participated. This planning workshop was an experiment itself, as the MSD-approach was used to analyse and plan the consortia project – meaning learning by doing.
The experiment went well and after a full day of discussing and analysing systems around capacity development on MSD, the main framework and intervention logic of the consortia project were agreed on. In addition, the group decided to name the approach „inclusive systems development“ as this approach can be (and is) applied in any kind of system to facilitate change to become more inclusive towards marginalised groups.
